It's disappointing when close friends I ask about the meat in their diet respond, "I don't know. It just comes on a tray of black plastic at the supermarket." Shits me no end. As soon as Australians learn there's more to life than borrowing money for plasma screens and real-estate speculation, and, that if we have to import our food we're all totally fucked, the better. At the current rate of disinterest in the rural sector, by the Nationals, Liberals and Labor parties, Australian grass-fed beef will become a luxury and the jobs associated with its production, a mere memory. Do have a beer at my old local the Tudor in Redfern, as well as extra triple garlic beef kebab from Wilson's for me, won't you?
