Thoughts on Mumbai…

14 Jul

I have said nothing about this, which is not to say I haven’t thought about it. Is there ever anywhere in this mad world such a thing as a righteous bomb? Of course not. Whether high tech from a distance and delivered courtesy of the Pentagon, or in a backpack, a bomb is among the most anti-human of things this world has to offer, evidence only of collective insanity.

Confused of Life is a street car named Desire has his viewpoint on all this, and more intimate knowledge than I have. But I really relate to one comment there:

as a simple human being, you & she & he & I etc etc feel the shock…every time, till it comes and strikes at us. we indeed are living in the real world but the crudity & insanity of it continues to shock us…let’s not b deprived of that emotion…else we become inhuman!

And then there is Israel/Palestine/Lebanon… God help us all. But he/she is probably too busy crying right now.

    Thanks for the cite.

Yes, it is indeed sad that we are becoming immune. We are not outraged anymore, that takes away something from us as human beings. Infact this is one of the things I admire about this country, that people still feel angry. Sadly, the present White House is taking that from us, when that goes, we would be no better than those terrorists.

I hope that will never happen.
