That’s the sight that greeted me when I logged into WordPress this morning. Nice, but of course a freak occurrence after all.

Still, today it’s Happy Birthday to this blog! So the above is a nice birthday present. Just replaying entry #1:

4 April 2006: The Rabbit takes the plunge

Orange or Bathurst would be nice, or Mudgee — nice wine district that. Or maybe around Tumut where one could become a trout-fisher, but that’s a bit far from Sydney. Then there’s the Southern Highlands. Cool in several senses.

Then there’s the South Coast, as long as it isn’t too far south. The Hunter Valley maybe? Lots of wine there.

There’s probably a better chance of a decent country appointment as old bastards like me retire or drop off the perch. And I really can see The Rabbit as a country person. Mind you, the more isolated and problematic the place the more brownie points for the future, that’s true. And someone has to teach in Wilcannia…

Just don’t read Wake in Fright, that’s all.

Twelve months on The Rabbit is an English teacher just winding up his first full term, but not in the country; well almost not in the country…

😦 I do miss The Rabbit…

Back to yesterday. WordPress read 2,296 views in the past 24 hours (GMT-based counting 10am yesterday to 10am today). And Sitemeter, counting in Australian Eastern Standard Time, now looks like this:
